When You Visit
Welcome! We are thrilled you are thinking about visiting Lawrence Wesleyan Church. Walking into a new place for the first time can sometimes be uncomfortable. We put together this page to help you know what to expect and hopefully put you at ease.
Here are a few tips for your first visit:
- Dress up or dress casual…it’s up to you. The atmosphere at our church is relaxed. You will see people wearing a variety of clothing from a coat and tie to shorts and a t-shirt. So come wearing what you feel most comfortable in. What you wear on the outside doesn’t really matter, just be yourself.
- We have reserved parking waiting for you right up front, near our entrance.
- Come a little early, especially if you have kids. Our nursery and children’s programs are all located on the lower level. You will need to check your kids in and pick up a pager if your child is in the nursery.
- If you are the kind of person who likes to have a coffee in your hand at all times, you don’t need to stop and get a cup on the way. We grind our coffee beans fresh every Sunday morning and keep a variety of coffees brewing all morning – and it’s no problem to bring them into service with you!
- Looking for a Sunday School class? At Lawrence Wesleyan Church we have what we call Study Groups that meet on Sunday mornings during both services. If you want to try one, our volunteers at the Welcome Center can give you a list of options.
- …and don’t forget to stop by the Welcome Center to pick up a welcome packet with information and some special gifts from us to you (including a coupon for a free drink at Signs of Life, downtown!)
Thanks for checking out our webpage. If you have other questions before you come, just call our church office at 841-5446. We’d love to talk to you. We want you to feel at home. We’re ready to welcome you just as you are.
